Middlesbrough’s booming digital sector has led to one of the town’s premier office spaces hitting maximum capacity.
The demand for high quality office space is continuing to rise with the Boho 5 building welcoming 12 new companies in the past 12 months and hitting 95% capacity, with two additional companies set to move in the coming weeks bringing the building to full occupancy.
Boho tenants are a mix of ambitious start-ups along with relocations and expansions choosing Middlesbrough in which to grow.
Earlier this year plans were unveiled for Boho 8 which will be part of the £45 million first phase of expansion plans for the Boho Zone, creating a digital campus with around 115,000 sq ft of prime business accommodation and a complementary residential offer delivered by Thirteen Group.
With this growing demand in mind, the new Boho 8 building, which will see 10,000 sq ft of bespoke modular office space delivered in autumn 2020, will come as a welcome addition to the area.
One of the latest tenants into the Boho Zone in Boho 5 is Radical Forge, a small but rapidly expanding company at the forefront of video game technology.
Bruce Slater from Radical Forge said: “With the rapid rate that digital companies in the Boho Zone are growing at, the Boho 8 expansion is vital to keep companies and staff in the area.
“Radical Forge is not the only company that’s growing and needs the space to expand. Boho 5 has a great mix of companies in the building but now lacks expansion space for business that are seeing growth.”
