Game Republic New Horizons, the UK games industry conference, will take place at The Riverside Stadium from 14 – 16 October and is bringing with it some of the biggest names in the industry from across the globe.

The flagship event for the North is expected to attract more than 200 leaders from across the games sector and the wider creative industries.

Across the three days there will be sessions, talks and experiences that focus on future opportunities, markets and skills with global speakers from leading studios, publishers, platforms and international investors.

Tencent Games, Xbox, The Games Angels, BFI and Xsolla are just some of the names already confirmed on the guestlist.

The legendary line-up of speakers includes a highly anticipated keynote from the “Father of PlayStation” Ken Kutaragi who is flying in from Japan for the event, and Chief Business Officer at Landfall, Rebecca Lautner.

Kutaragi joined Sony Corp. in 1975 before eventually creating, engineering and launching the CD-based console in the early 1990’s, offering the masses a more advanced way of gaming compared to the leading consoles of the day. The creation of PlayStation®, PlayStation®2, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) and PlayStation®3 rocketed the games industry into a global mainstream industry.

Attendees of the Game Republic New Horizons conference will be able to organise formal meetings with the trusted ‘MeetToMatch’ system, get involved with masterclasses and a curated indie showcase as well as business workshops, tech deep-dives, an expo and an Investor Zone in collaboration with Games London
