A five-strong team from Middlesbrough Council’s Community Learning Service took the honours in the 2017 Tees Valley Apprenticeship Challenge as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
They joined in a friendly battle with teams of fellow apprentices from Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton Councils in range of activities including archery, den building, team games and orienteering.
The Apprenticeship Challenge – now in its fifth year – took place at Hartlepool’s Summerhill outdoor Activity Centre and this year was hosted by Darlington Council.
The winning team members from Middlesbrough Laura Harrison, Dillon Newton, Amelia Graham, Chloe Gill and Holly Davies – were awarded a medal and each received a congratulatory gift voucher.
Ann White, Apprenticeships Coordinator for Middlesbrough Community Learning, said: “It was a great day enjoyed by all and our team excelled themselves with their enthusiasm and team spirit.
“They are a credit to Middlesbrough Council and their respective employing organisations.
“I was very proud of their performance and their positive approach to each activity.
“Well done!”
