Middlesbrough has ranked one of the top places for footfall as shoppers return to the high street.

In the week following April 12, Middlesbrough had the seventh biggest increase in footfall in the UK compared to the same week in 2019.

The research comes from Ipsos’s Retail Recovery Index. The data show that people are continuing to shop locally on their high streets rather then opting to travel further afield to shop in major cities like they may have done pre-Covid.
